Bad Breath
Bad breath is caused by a number of factors: not brushing your teeth properly, gum disease, dry mouth, tobacco products, diet or even medical disorders. The #1 cause of bad breath is bacteria in the mouth, and you would be surprised at the positive affect produced by simple changes to your oral hygiene habits, such as:
Bush you tongue too! You heard it, brush and floss your teeth AND brush your tongue. Doing this greatly reduces the bacteria that accumulates on the little hairs of your tongue, decreasing bad breath.
Drink more water! Bad breath can be caused by dehydration on the mouth, so drinking water and keeping your mouth moist can get rid of cotton mouth AND bad breath.
Don’t forget the floss! Brushing is all and good, but you have to remember to floss too. There are little bits of debris left over from the food you eat that get stuck in places that your toothbrush is not able to get. If this debris stays there it starts to rot, causing a not-so-great smell and also the basis for tooth decay.
